Overview

ID3 Lab enables you to create, modify, and remove both ID3v1 and ID3v2 mp3 tags. The program allows you to change the basic options such as Artist, Title, Track Number, Year, Genre, and Comments. It also allows you to change some of the less common features such as pictures and whether the track is a cover or a remix. There is a helpful renaming facility which allows you to rename the file using its ID3 Tag so that the file name makes more sense. You can also use the batch options facility, which allows you to change large numbers of mp3 tags quickly and easily. You are given the option of using the file location to change the MP3 Tag, you can also copy ID3v2 tags to ID3v1 and visa versa. In general this is a comprehensive mp3 tag editor with many features you will find no where else.

Version 3 incorporates a more user friendly interface. ID3 Tag error detection is now displayed instantly using warning symbols next to the appropriate fields, hovering over the symbol informs you of the problem.

An ID3 Tag version checker has now been included. This compares a files ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags to ensure that they are the same, this is ideal for those upgrading their MP3 files from v1 to v2.

The number of ID3v2 tags ID3 Lab can handle has been dramatically increased. A large selection of tags such as the Band, Composers, Artist's web address, and many more can now be added, edited, and removed.

The renaming feature has been improved now allowing you to rename files with a larger selection of name formats, including a customised file name format.

A media player has now been included allowing you to listen to the mp3 file while you are altering the tag details.
